With fall quickly becoming winter in Colorado, it’s important that you make sure your car is ready for the inclement weather. Not only should you have your car serviced to ensure it’s running properly, but it’s also a good idea to keep an emergency kit in your trunk in the unfortunate event you do find yourself stuck in the snow and stranded.
While there’s certainly many items that different individuals will find helpful if stuck, the following are the top items we at Kidneigh & Kaufman suggest:
-warm (and water resistant!) clothes: hat, gloves, socks, poncho, etc.;
-sneakers or winter boots: in a situation where you are stuck and may have to walk to get help, you will want a good pair of shoes to get you there;
-a car charger for your cell phone;
-water: while a person can go several days without foot, water is a must;
-granola bars: just because you can go several days without food, doesn’t mean you want to!;
-first aid kit
No matter if you create your own emergency survival kit or buy a pre-packaged one, make sure you are prepared for these winter months and keep yourself safe!
